臺灣的智慧財產權主要分成以下三個部份:

1.      著作權

2.      商標權

3.      專利權

世界智慧財產權組織（World Intellectual Property Organization，簡稱WIPO）是聯合國組織系統中的15個專門機構之一。它管理著涉及知識產權保護各個方面的24項條約，而其中伯恩公約(或稱伯爾尼公約, Berne Convention)是現代著作權的源頭。

而WIPO對智慧財展權的分類如下:
